Noticing is the first step to thinking. You don't care about what you don't notice. Notice is a practice of intentional attending to the world around us. 

Wonder shares the same root as admire. Admire originally meant to "to wonder at". You don't admire what you don't notice.

Education is more than curriculum, data and facts. A true education should train our children in the underlying skills necessary to think so that they might orient themselves properly in the world.
